Contesting in Batu Gajah in next general election  has never entered my mind as the best standard-bearer is none other than Fong Po Kuan

(Petaling JayaThursday): Malaysiakini yesterday reported that “there is an increasing likelihood” that I may “opt for the safe seat of Batu Gajah in Perak” in the next general election.

I have consistently declined comment on the question of party candidatures until a final decision has been made and I do not wish to make any exception. However, I wish to say that the idea of my contesting in Batu Gajah in the next general election is utterly preposterous and has never entered my mind.

This is because the best DAP standard-bearer for the seat is none other than the incumbent, Fong Po Kuan, who had acquitted herself most creditably as an MP for herself and the DAP in the past four years – despite being unfairly and unjustly suspended from Parliament by a brute and unthinking majority for discharging her duties as an MP in speaking up against injustices.
