(Petaling Jaya, Monday): Works Minister, Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu and the Selangor Mentri Besar, Datuk Abu Hassan Omar have been invited to the Water Crisis Forum organised by the Council for Justice, Freedom, Democracy and Good Governance at the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall on Thursday, 2nd July 1998 at 8 pm.

Invitations have been extended to Samy Vellu and Abu Hassan and I hope that they would be able to attend, together with the relevant Federal Ministry and State government department officials, such as from the Selangor Waterworks Departments and other relevant organisations, such as Puncak Niaga, to explain about the water crisis and the latest developments, as well as to hear the complaints and the grouses of the people affected by the crisis.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad recently said that Barisan Nasional Ministers are hands-on who go to the ground to find out at first-hand the problems faced by the people, and I hope that Samy Vellu and Abu Hassan would be able to pass this Mahathir test by coming to the Water Crisis Forum.

Apart from Samy Vellu and Abu Hassan, other panellists at the Water Shortage Crisis Forum on Thursday are:

All Malaysians are invited to the forum.
