Central Working Committee issues directive to all DAP leaders, members, State Committees and branches not to air DAP internal problems in public on pain of disciplinary action to restore party discipline and public confidence

Media Conference Statement (2)
by Lim Kit Siang

(Petaling Jaya, Saturday): I have just spoken to the Sarawak DAP State Chairman, Sdr. Jason Wong to tell him what I am saying at this media conference and he confirmed what I had said.

He expressed surprise at some of the statements made by Sim, for instance about "independent persons playing the role of mediators at roundtable meeting to resolve the dispute" which he is hearing for the first time.

The last time Jason Wong spoke to Sim was on Thursday evening.  Since my meeting with Sim at Hotel Plaza on Monday, he had never spoken to me at all or tried to contact me.

The DAP Central Working Committee has decided to issue a directive to all DAP leaders, members, State Committees and branches not to air DAP internal problems in public on pain of disciplinary action to restore party discipline and public confidence.

The DAP Central Working Committee, (CWC) comprising National Chairman, Dr. Chen Man Hin, National Deputy Chairman, Karpal Singh,  National Vice Chairmen, Ahmad Nor and Dr. Tan Seng Giaw (absent - overseas in United Kingdom),  Lim Kit Siang Secretary-General, Lim Guan Eng and Abdul Muluk Daud (Deputy Secretaries-General), Fong Kui Lun (Acting National Treasurer), Tan Kok Wai (National Organising Secretary) took the decision to protect the  public image and  credibility of the party which had been seriously damaged.

The DAP CWC decision takes effect from now.

The DAP Disciplinary Committee has been directed by the CWC to implement the new directive and monitor the situation, if necessary on a day-to-day basis, taking all necessary actions to restore party discipline and public confidence in the Party.

Let all party energies be directed outwards to fight the KOKS campaign outside the Party, whether  the mighty, powerful and wealthy Nanyang Siang Pao or other elements, both inside and outside  Barisan Nasional, who want to undermine and destroy the DAPs political offensive to successfuly create a national political movement for justice, freedom, democracy and good governance.
