Let all Malaysians celebrate Deepavali marking the triumph of good over evil by dedicating themselves to fight injustice, economic exploitation and corruption to make Malaysia closer to the image of a good society

On behalf of the DAP, I wish all Malaysian Hindus a Happy Deepavali. In fact, I wish all Malaysians too a Happy Deepavali as Deepavali, like other major festivals in our multi-racial, multi-religious and multi-cultural society, such as Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Christmas, have also become Malaysian festivals regardless of religion or race.

Let all Malaysians, therefore, celebrate Deepavali marking the triumph of good orver evil by dedicating themselves to fight injustice, economic exploitation and corruption to make Malaysia closer to the image of a good society.

The Hindu culture and civilization is an important source for the Malaysian culture and civilization which all Malaysians must unite to create in the 21st century - and the great message Deepavali can impart to all Malaysians is to cultivate the commitment to help good triumph over evil in their daily and national life.
